This is to greet all our members and our many readers at this time of Christmas, Chanukah and the New Year 2010.

I am sure that all the team who help to produce this Forum----NICKY, Hannah, Dom and everyone else join me in this greeting.

Sorry that the What Nicola Has Told Us Now topic does not have any further development this month, but December is such a busy time!

[It is a very busy time for my old friend, Chaimy Lipovich, who has been waiting to take his violin into Central London and make a bit of extra money. He has been looking forward to the day when his wife, Jael (Mrs Lipovich to you if you don't mind!), goes to visit her sister in Palmer's Green....when is he NOT looking forward to the days that "Mrs Lipovich-to-you-if -you-don't-mind" goes to visit her sister in Palmer's Green?

Once she caught him out, but the dates were right that year and he said he had gone to anticipate Chanukah.  It didn't wash with her, however:

"Playing det thing in the street for money!  Is'das nit ein'shande!?"

(Eine Schande in standard German is a disgrace...)]
